General Podiatry
A routine podiatry treatment can transform your feet in both comfort and cosmetically. Most general conditions can be dealt with during a routine treatment including long and thick nails, hard skin/calluses and corns. A typical treatment will begin with a foot soak to soften the feet, then any corns and calluses can be removed followed by the maintenance of the nails. Once this process is complete the treatment can then be finished with an application of urea cream to moisturise the feet and prevent cracking - £42
Diabetic foot assessment
Sensory and vascular testing is performed and footcare advice for the care of diabetic feet is provided along with the creation of a podiatry treatment plan in order to maintain good foot health for the future, then a letter will be written to your GP to inform them of your risk status - £42
Biomechanical Assessment
A biomechanical assessment is useful if you are experiencing pain in the lower limb. The podiatrist will assess your joints and analyse your gait to determine the cause of your pain. Then a treatment plan will then be devised which may include stretching and strengthening exercises, taping and/or the prescription of bespoke orthotics which will be produced from a cast of your feet and customised in the lab according to your needs. Bespoke orthotics can correct abnormal gait and reduce stress on damaged tissues, decrease pain and allow the healing process to begin - £90
Wart and Verruca treatment (Can treat both hands and feet)
Verrucas and Warts are caused by the highly infectious Human Papilloma Virus, which is easily spread from person to person, usually through bare skin contact with contaminated hard surfaces. They can appear on the feet hands or even the face! This is why it is important to treat Warts and Verrucas and prevent them from spreading.
Cryotherapy
Whilst there is no 100% effective cure for Verrucas or Warts, cryotherapy is currently the most successful treatment offered by Knee to Toe Podiatry. As the viral infection resides in the dermis layer of the skin, the bodies immune system is not very active in this layer and often does not recognise the virus is even present. The freezing and thawing of cells during this treatment is intended to trigger an immune response. Because of this in cases where there are more than 3 Warts/Verrucas only 3 need to be treated, the systemic response should clear them all up once the body recognises the virus. Treatment can take multiple sessions and some warts do not respond to treatment -£45 per session
Caustic Therapy
Also offered is traditional caustic therapy with silver nitrate. The caustic will be applied to your skin along with a dressing, this will need to be kept dry. The patient will then be seen at weekly intervals and can take up to 9 sessions to resolve
